Field CTO, is a senior, customer-facing technical leader critical to the relationship between Oracle and its most important clients. This position bridges customer needs with Oracle’s technological solutions, ensuring the delivery of feasible, consistent, and effective value offerings aligned with customer requirements.

Role Description

The Field CTO operates at the account level, offering strategic technology advice that transcends individual opportunities and focuses on long-term customer goals. Collaborating with pre-selling and consulting experts such as Account Software Engineers, Account Cloud Engineers, and Enterprise Technology Architects, the Field CTO provides comprehensive solutions for large-scale transformational and innovative projects, including platform adoption, dedicated regions, alloy, AI, and data platform solutions.

In these complex scenarios, the Field CTO collaborates with Specialists to develop detailed technical designs and propositions that encompass architecture, operations, and adoption strategies essential for success, alongside a business capability roadmap for organizational change.

The Field CTO role uniquely combines technical expertise with strategic vision, emphasizing the intersection of technology and tangible business outcomes. Technology Leadership:


● Recognized as a technology authority with extensive customer-side leadership experience.
● Demonstrates strong executive presence and superior socio-behavioral skills to manage technical complexity.
● Exemplifies corporate citizenship and contributes to Oracle’s technical and non-technical communities.
 

Customer Engagement:


● Acts as a trusted advisor, providing enterprise technology recommendations aligned with customer vision, strategy, and goals.
● Produces technology deliverables that align with customer business strategies.
● Articulates the value proposition of proposed solutions and creates actionable technical roadmaps for transformation.
 

 Thought Leadership and Public Engagement:


● Acts as a thought leader by presenting at industry conferences, contributing to white papers, blogs, and participating in webinars and podcasts.
● Shares insights and trends with the broader technology community.
● Engages with customers, partners, and developer communities to drive adoption and advocacy for Oracle’s technologies.
 

Collaboration and Influence:


○ Supports account teams in large-scale transformational and innovative opportunities. Works with local account teams and various Oracle Lines of Business.
○ Conducts strategy, architecture, roadmap, and planning workshops.
○ Provides assessments of current state and recommendations for future state.
○ Collaborates with internal teams across product management, engineering, sales, and marketing to ensure cohesive technology adoption and alignment with business objectives.
 

Strategic Advisory:


● Advises on the organizational impact of solutions.
● Positions Oracle as a “transformation partner” through consulting and wider services capability.
● Maintains awareness of relevant programs, assets from Oracle worldwide, and competitor developments.
● Creates and communicates long-term technology strategies and roadmaps.
 

Daily Responsibilities and Tools:


● Begins the day by analyzing the latest industry reports to stay abreast of advancements in cloud technology and their implications for clients.
● Engages in strategic discussions with sales and marketing teams to effectively communicate the value of Oracle’s cloud solutions.
● Designs client-specific visions and guides the team on pitching these solutions to key stakeholders.
● Engages with clients to understand their business pressures and architect solutions that facilitate not just migration but also business transformation.
 

Expertise and Qualifications


● Technical Expertise:
● Extensive experience in designing solutions for various industries and domains, including Financial, Healthcare, Retail, Government, Data Center Transformation, AI, and Cloud Native.
● Familiarity with architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, IAF, DYA, and Oracle’s OADP/OEAF.
● Proficiency in technology approaches including consolidation, cloud computing, virtualization, AI, disaster recovery, application rationalization, and big data.
 

Professional Background:


● University Degree in Computer Sciences or a related field.
● Significant experience as a CTO or equivalent, with expertise in PaaS, IaaS, and Digital Transformation.
● Proven C-level presentation and consultative selling skills.
● Knowledge of Oracle and competitor products and services.
